System Developers

Location: Oslo, Norway, no

Opera is looking for excellent System Developers for our Systems group in the Core department.
Our systems test millions of test cases each day and record hundreds of thousands of tasks, bugs and change requests.

Responsibilities

The Systems group is responsible for for testing and ancillary systems. This includes hosting of test cases and general web servers; creating and maintaining testing APIs (such as Watir and WebDriver implementations); maintaining our bug reporting system, build system, and servers and computer farms for integration testing and results comparison; quarantining of test cases, and ad hoc automation of development and QA tasks.

The current programming languages used are Java, PHP, Python, Pike, Ruby, JavaScript and C++ running mainly on Linux. the platforms tested are Windows, Linux and Mac, as well as some mobile platforms.

Requirements

For this position,we need developers with a strong programming background who have interests and experience in one or more of the following areas:

- Databases
- Web technology
- Client-server solutions
- Efficient, robust, documented and easy-to-maintain code

The successful candidate would have the following:

• Motivation to solve difficult problems
• BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field
• Good communications skills
• A structured work approach
